Here is my new blog again. I am quite late for this. These days stock market is going down and down everyday globally. Nothing is perfect these days. Grocery items are getting costier these days and bank are shutting down day by day. This blog is meant for all those Internet Freaks who earn their money by selling and purchasing Domain Names.

These days stock market is showing sluggish growth and the adverse effect of this is on our Old Favourite Domain Selling and Purchasing Business.
I am writing this blog after experiencing it personally. The domain which purchased for few $XXX are not even getting low $XXX.
I remember i purchased one 4L.com from one member on some forum for $22 after winning the auction and after one month when i went to sell it on some other forums including the one in which i purchased that, i was shocked, i just got $X offers from other members. The maximum which i got from some member after doing some advertisement and promotion was $17. To earn some quick funds and to prevent further delay, i sold that one for $17.
Loss=$22-$17=$5

I have seen other domain owner who were getting $XXX offers in the mid of 2008 but they rejected these orders to make more profit and get more high paying potential buyers. And now these days they are not getting even single buyer for their domain. They are getting offers in the low $XX.

So what i learned that this is not the good time for selling domains, so better you should wait for some time.
But what if your domain is going to expire in a month or two, in that i suggest you to create a small website using some free CMS tool(freely available on the web) and then do link exchange. I am sure you will get more than what you have spent on that domain.

If you have some money, then you can go for renewing your domain and wait for that golden time to get good offers.

I hope, this post may help many hapless seller to gain their money back.

Well what i should say about this topic. Domain is a piece of text which starts with WWW and ends with COM, NET, BIZ, INFO….In every country, citizen gets some identity card so that they can be recognised like passport, driving license….

Similarly, Domain is your ID card on the web. The easier and more attractive domain you have, the more attractive ID card you will get.

Everyday people register millions of domains and millions of domains get expired everyday. Before taking domain, Make sure for what type of website you want to create. I will suggest you to go for dictionary domain. Please make sure that domain should not have more than 22 characters and must be easy to remember.

Whois is dangerous or not?
I will say it is dangerous because there are many spyware bots available on the web which are always looking for owner private information like their email(for spamming), nameserver, etc. To prevent this, you can use some methods like whois guard. Whois guard instead of showing your original information, it will show some other information. It will change your name, address, email and other information. You can buy this from your registrar.
If Whois is dangerous, Then why it is public? It is according to ICANN rules. ICANN is organisation which do take care of all domain registration. According ICANN, while registering your domain you should give your accurate information.
Whenever you register any domain, ICANN charges some fees, i think it is 20 cents per name.

So i think now everyone has got a some overview about the domain name and WHOIS.

1) Open namecheap.com homepage.
2) Enter your username and password and login to your account.
3) Then you will see Member’s Home Page.
4) Then click on the Manage Domain button present on the second titlebar.
5) Then you will see Manage Domain page showing your domains.
6) Click on the domain name which you want to setup.
7) Then you will see various options on the left of the page example-Change contacts, Auto renew, List domain for sale and so on.
8 ) Click on Domain name server setup to setup your domain.
9) Enter your webhost DNS where you have hosted your site. You need atleast two nameservers.
10) Click on Save Changes
11) It will take 4 hrs for changing nameservers.

NOW, go to your webhost control panel where you can setup your domain.

1) Use Domain Pointer page, to point your domain registered on namecheap.com to your hosted site on your webhost.

AND you are done!!
